Lack of power, that was our dilemma. We had to find a power by which we could live, and it had to be a Power greater than ourselves. Obviously. But where and how were we to find this Power?

Whether you have a problem controlling your drinking, your eating, your gambling, other people, or anything else, the real issue is power. |
Everyone wants power. |
We believe we have power and control over a lot of things, but we really don't. |
At best we can only honestly say we have influence. |
Power is something that's absolute and indisputable. Like gravity. We call it a law because it can't be broken. You don't have to believe in it for it to work. It just does.
Even if you didn't believe in gravity, if you were to go to the top of a tall building and step off the edge, you would go down. And the effect is immediate. |
When we are having trouble controlling something, fear keeps us from looking for help. |
We are afraid we'll appear foolish, |
or stupid, |
or weak, |
or ignorant, |
or bad, |
or wrong, |
or... |
But we're not foolish or stupid or weak or ignorant or wrong or at fault just because we can't control things. |
We're just not made that way. |
It would be like asking an automobile to design the freeway. |
They're not made for that. |
They're just made to go on whatever road the driver wants to go on. |
That doesn't make the car bad. |
Car's don't have free will, though. Humans do. |
We have the power of choice. |
With choices and intentions we create our surroundings. |
We make them wonderful... |
...or we make them miserable. |
We also make them all shades in between. |
Sometimes we make some of our surroundings wonderful and other surroundings terrible. |
Like the guy who is a billionaire but has a miserable family life. |
Creativity is like that. |
Whatever you place great value on is what comes back to you. |
If you place little value on family, chances are you won't have a great family life. |
So we make choices about a lot of things. |
Material wealth, |
health, |
intellect, |
family, |
personal development, |
skills, |
and spiritual growth... |
...are just a few of the things people place value in. |
A lot of people think all of these things are separate. |
But a few have discovered that when they are prioritized in a certain way, they all seem to work and
flow together. |
And all aspects of their lives become wonderful. |
So what decisions did they make to have that happen? |
And how did they carry out these decisions? |
